Our faculty members are not only very knowledgeable, but they are also very social and very personable with the entire student body.  Their doors are always open and they are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Civil engineering faculty members have long been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments, receiving awards such as the Maine Distinguished Professor Medal (Eric Landis 2004, Habib Dagher 1995, Dana Humphrey 1994), the Carnegie Foundation Award, given to the best professor in the State, the Chi Epsilon Excellence in Teaching Award, and best paper awards from three leading technical journals. This tradition of excellence is also reflected in the achievements of civil engineering students, who have also won best paper awards and received nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships.
