The Solver tab is used to launch the FE solver. The user can choose whether to solve the current model or to work with a batch list and solve multiple models in sequence. On this tab, the estimated amount of memory (RAM) required to solve the model is displayed. The user's computer should have at least this amount of available memory or solution times may be unreasonably large since it will be necessary to page to the hard drive. The amount of memory required provides a general gage of model solution time, although this is also highly dependent on the user's processor speed, finite element aspect ratios, and other modeling choices. To solve the current model, simply choose the Solve Current Model option and click the Solve button. The EverStressFE panel will appear as shown below in Figure 1.

To work with a batch list of models, choose the Work with a Batch List option. When this option is selected, the batch list entry table and options will be visible. To add projects to the list, simply click the Add Projects button and a dialog box will pop up. In this dialog box, the user has the option of selecting single or multiple projects (Example shown in Figure 2 below). After completing this operation, the selected projects will appear in the batch file list with the full file path. To remove single or multiple projects from this list, select the model(s), then click the Clear button. To remove all of the projects from the list, click the Clear All button. To save the current batch list, click the Save List button and follow the prompts on the dialog box. This EverStressFE Batch File (EBF) will automatically take on the .ebf file extension if the user does not include it. The contents of the file will be identical to the contents of the batch file entry box. To open a previously saved EverStressFE Batch File (EBF) file, click Load New List and follow the prompts on the dialog box. The dialog boxes are filtered so that they only display .ebf files. To solve the entire batch file list, click the Solve All button. The batch file region of the EverStressFE Solver panel will appear similarly to the example shown below in Figure 3 prior to clicking the Solve All button.
