Team Black Bear was started in the beginning of 2005. This team was created to compete in the international Composite Catapult Competition put on by EPTA (European Pultrusion Technology Association). This competition is going to be an extremely challenging endeavor for all of the participating students and faculty of the University of Maine. The competition takes place in The Netherlands in the beginning of July 2005. To qualify to compete in this competition Team Black Bear has to research, design, and build a catapult that can throw a 5.6kg (12.3lb) projectile at least 50m (164ft). The force to throw the ball has to come from the composite material that it is built out of. For more information about the competition please visit: EPTA's Catapult Competition If you would like to help us with our endeavors Contact Us with any questions you may have about sponsorship and we will get back to you as soon as possible. |
