Maine Distinguished Professor Medals
Carnegie Foundation Award
Recognition is given for outstanding achievement in teaching,
research and public service.
Dean Smith Awards
Recognizing athletes with senior standing that exhibit
exemplary academic achievement, athletic achievement, leadership
and character.
Community Service Recognition
1998 Barbara Bodwell Award. Presented to the
ASCE Student Chapter
for obtaining the most outstanding
service record on the UMaine campus. The fifty student chapter
members donated over 350 hours to community service during the
1997-98 academic year.
1998 Presidential Certificate of Appreciation. The ASCE
Student Chapter was recognized by UMaine President Peter Hoff for
their exemplary service record in 1997-98.
1998 Presidential Public Service Achievement Award. Presented
to
Dr. Dana Humphrey for applying the research and teaching
resources of the University to the needs of its constituencies.
The award recognized Dana's nationwide educational efforts to
promote the engineering and environmental benefits of civil
engineering uses for scrap tires and helping the ASCE student
chapter with its wheel chair ramps and other projects.
